The South Metro Public Safety Training Facility operates under a joint powers agreement between the Cities of Bloomington, Eden Prairie, Edina, and the Metropolitan Airports Commission.

 

It is our mission to provide high quality, cost effective training and development for public safety organizations through shared resources to ensure premier public safety services to our communities.

The South Metro Public Safety Training Facility Board of Directors meets quarterly. Meetings in 2021 are currently scheduled for January 26, April 27, July 27, and October 26.

TOWER

  • Burn Packages Available
  • Police & Fire Tactical Use of Tower (no fire) $85/hour with two hour minimum
  • $400/ day per each side from 0700 – 1700 hours
  • $100/hour for hours after 5 PM or weekend hours (includes keyholder fee)
    Add on: $35/hr Water, $35/hr  Smoke

Public Safety Personnel

We offer leading-edge resources and opportunities to public safety personnel to ensure the highest quality of training possible.

Facilities include classrooms, tactical gym, firearms simulator, two gun ranges, and a live fire training tower, etc. Courses include MN POST Board accredited classes investigation techniques, train the trainer classes and firearms instruction.

Information for the Public

The gun range is open every Friday from 5PM to 9PM, Saturday from 8AM to 2PM and most* Wednesdays from 6PM to 9PM. Cost is $20/lane/45 minutes. Walk-ins only.

Firearms courses offered several times a year.

*Occasionally, the range is unavailable on a Wednesday evening for police training. Click here for more information.
